【Characteristics】This product is a white to slightly yellow fibrous or granular powder; odorless; hygroscopic. This product swells in water to form a gelatinous solution, or is insoluble in ethanol.
【Identification】Take 1g of this product, add 50ml of warm water, stir to disperse uniformly to make a gelatinous solution, allow to cool, and set aside. (1) Take 10ml of the above solution, add 1ml of copper test solution, a blue flocculent precipitate is produced. (2) Take 5ml of the above solution, add an equal volume of barium chloride test solution, a white precipitate is produced. (3) The above solution shows the flame reaction of sodium salts (General Rule 0301).
【Inspection】Viscosity: Take 4.0g of this product (calculated on the dried basis), place in a weighed 250ml beaker, add 150ml of hot water, place in a hot water bath to maintain temperature for 30 minutes, stir rapidly until the powder is fully wetted, allow to cool, add enough water to make the total weight of the mixture 200g, let stand, stir from time to time until completely dissolved. Arsenic salt: Take 0.67g of this product (calculated on the dried basis), add 1.0g of calcium hydroxide, mix, add 2ml of water, stir evenly, after drying, char with a small flame, then ignite at 500~600℃ until completely ashed, allow to cool, add hydrochloric acid 5ml and water 23ml, inspect according to the law (General Rule 0822 first method), should comply with the regulation (0.0003%).
【Assay】Take about 0.25g of this product from the loss on drying test, accurately weighed, place in a 150ml conical flask, add 50ml of glacial acetic acid, shake well, heat under reflux for 2 hours, allow to cool, transfer to a 100ml beaker, wash the conical flask with glacial acetic acid 3 times, 5ml each time, combine the washings in the beaker, according to the potentiometric titration method (General Rule 0701), titrate with titrant (0.1mol/L), and correct the titration results with a blank test. Each 1ml of titrant (0.1mol/L) is equivalent to 2.299mg of Na.
